Mesothelioma, there are two, one. Pleural mesothelioma is pleural primary tumor, a localized type (mostly benign) and diffuse (all malignant) of the points. Which diffuse malignant mesothelioma is the worst prognosis breast tumors. Between 40-70 years of age in most patients, more men than women. 2. Peritoneal mesothelioma is the primary peritoneal mesothelial cells in the tumor. Has no clinical characteristic, common signs and symptoms include: abdominal pain, ascites, abdominal distention and abdominal mass, and so on. Peritoneal mesothelioma accounts for about 20% of all mesothelioma cases may occur in 2-92 years, mean age was 54 years old, of which about 63% of cases in the 45-64 years of age, children are rarely sick

Pleural mesothelioma

Initial symptoms of chest pain, cough and shortness of breath were the most common. Have fever, sweating or joint pain mainly v. symptoms. About half of these patients have a large number of pleural effusion with severe shortness of breath. No large pleural effusion are often more severe chest pain, weight loss common. Ordinary X-ray found that pleural effusion, and lung tumor tissue was wrapped so advanced cases can lead to heart with pericardial effusion and soft tissue shadow expansion and rib destruction. For patients with suspected malignant pleural mesothelioma, CT examination is most useful. Pleural effusion cytology are diagnostic. Routine laboratory examination, some patients have thrombocytosis, serum carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) increased, etc.. For routine examination the diagnosis can not be clear, can do thoracoscopic pleural biopsy. General most patients can be diagnosed. The treatment of malignant pleural mesothelioma, there is still no effective cure. Treatment methods, there is a palliative treatment, surgical treatment, chemotherapy and radiation therapy, the tumor is generally believed that a relatively limited period I patients, advocates do cure for pleural pneumonectomy. For ¢ò, ¢ó, ¢ô of patients, radical surgery has no meaning, only palliative surgery. In fact, the majority of patients to disease diagnosis, has been in II, above. Rapid growth in patients with pleural effusion often leads to serious breathing difficulties, so palliative operation for improving the quality of life of these terminally ill patients is significant. Past use of intrapleural chemotherapy drugs or cause pleural effusion persisted

Peritoneal Mesothelioma
------------------
Clinical manifestations
1. Abdominal pain, bloating, ascites, abdominal mass; 2. Anorexia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation; 3. Fatigue, fever, weight loss, anemia; 4. Low blood sugar, diffuse abdominal ossification; 5. Combined with other sites such as peritoneal mesothelioma, mesothelioma, metastasis of other organs and complications of the corresponding performance.
Diagnosis is based on
1. Abdominal pain, bloating, ascites, abdominal mass in patients, especially the history of asbestos exposure; 2. Peritoneal imaging signs of a thin sheet of tumor and ascites; 3. Ascites cytology; 4. Peritoneal biopsy, laparoscopy and laparotomy and pathological examination of tissue to be diagnosed. Peritoneal mesothelioma, peritoneal epithelial origin and the mesothelial tissue, asbestos dust for the pathogenic substances may also be caused by certain viruses causes of mesothelioma. Pathology of peritoneal mesothelioma can be divided into: adenomatoid tumor, cystic mesothelioma, and three types of malignant mesothelioma. Peritoneal mesothelioma clinical manifestations are not specific, the diagnosis, the positive rate was low, specificity is not strong, clinical diagnosis very difficult. With laparoscopy, ultrasound and CT guided biopsy technology, conduct, and pathology, immunohistochemistry and electron microscope level, more and more cases are clearly alive and preoperative pathological diagnosis. Peritoneal mesothelioma should be differentiated from tuberculous peritonitis, intra-abdominal metastases, other primary tumors in the peritoneal omentum differentiated.
